3 Principal characters, 16 supporting characters and many ensemble roles needed for this production.

Due to the Junior nature of this show, no one who will be over the age of 17 on July 26, 2026 will be permitted to audition for this show. Show dates are July 17, 18, 24 and 25 at 7:30 pm and July 19 and 26 at 3 pm.
Please bring conflict dates to auditions. Rehearsal schedule contingent upon actors schedules, and may include some weekend rehearsals.

Character Descriptions
Main Characters:

Marlin: An anxious Clownfish and Nemo’s overprotective father.

Dory: An optimistic and bubbly Blue Tang. Struggles with short term memory loss.

Nemo: A curious young Clownfish who longs to explore.
The Tank Gang (may also be a part of the Ensemble):

Bubbles: A Yellow Tang who is so captivated by bubbles, it’s the only word they know

Bloat: Open minded and supportive Pufferfish

Gurgle: A Royal Gamma who is frightened of strangers…and germs
-
Peach: A mature and down-to-earth Starfish who offers guidance and reassurance
-
Gill: A Moorish Idol who is a relentless and inspiring leader and will stop at nothing for freedom
-
Nigel: A Pelican who is the Tank Gang’s friend and only connection to the outside world
Featured Dancers (will also be part of the Ensemble):

Barracuda: Attacks Marlin and Coral

Looking for: A dancer who is also skilled at acrobatics

Scuba Mask Dancer: Dances across the stage periodically with the oversized scuba mask

Looking for: A dancer who is skilled in lyrical/contemporary dance

Net Dancers: Two dancers who will periodically catch the fish when needed. May also double as the Barracuda and Scuba Mask dancer(s).

Tad: A self-professed “obnoxious” Butterflyfish

Reef Parents: Parents to Sheldon, Pearl and Tad

Professor Ray: A Stingray and Nemo’s enthusiastic teacher

Bruce: An intimidating Great White Shark (Tap dancing skills preferred)

Chum: One of Bruce’s shark friends (Tap dancing skills preferred)

Anchor: One of Bruce’s shark friends (Tap dancing skills preferred)

Crush: A 150 year old Sea Turtle who knows how to hang loose

Kai: Sea Turtle in Crush’s group

Breeze: Sea Turtle in Crush’s group

Squirt: Child of Crush; fearless and brave

Sydney Vacationer: Periodically pops up during the show and constantly has their snacks stolen by the Seagulls

General Audition Information:
All auditions are open to anyone in the community regardless of race or ethnic background. No previous stage experience is required to try out for any BCP production. Our directors are open to non-traditional castings and everyone is encouraged to submit themselves for all projects.
Knowledge of the material is encouraged but not required.
Players do not have to be the ages of the characters, just be able to portray the age range listed.
Play Auditions:
You do not need to prepare anything. Actors will be instructed to read pieces from the script at auditions.
Musical Auditions:
You must come prepared to sing 16-32 bars of a musical theatre piece that displays your vocal range.
Clearances:
Any individual who is cast in a show with anyone under the age of 18 must receive both their Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance and the Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Clearance. As a volunteer for the theatre there should be no cost. If you do not obtain your clearances, you WILL NOT be able to act in a show with anyone under 18 in the cast.
